Cafe-Bar is a lightweight app for taking coffee and cocktail orders at home — a way for a host (the person running a "cafe-bar") to collect drink orders from their guests. It is not a commercial ordering service, it shows no ads, and it does not sell or share your information with anyone.
What we collect
- Guests: the name you type when ordering, the orders and drink requests you place, and — only if you opt in — a push notification subscription so your device can tell you when your drink is ready. If a host gates their bar, a private membership token is stored on your device so you don't have to re-join every visit.
- Hosts: the email address used to create your cafe-bar account, plus the menu, branding, pantry, and settings you configure for your bar.
- On your device: small preferences kept in your browser's local storage (your name, your last-visited bar, day/night mode). These never leave your device except as part of the requests above.
What we don't do
- No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
- No tracking cookies.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data with third parties.
- No collection of location, contacts, photos, or anything beyond what's listed above.
Where your data lives
Order data is stored in a Microsoft Azure–hosted database operated by the app's maintainer and is visible to the host of the bar you ordered from (so they can make your drink). Push subscriptions are used solely to deliver the notifications you asked for and can be revoked at any time from your browser or device settings.
Your choices
- Order without notifications — push opt-in is never required.
- Use the Log out / Leave this bar links on the order page to clear your membership and saved name from the device.
- Ask the host (or the maintainer, below) to delete your past orders or membership at any time.
Children
The app is intended for household and social use. It collects only a display name for orders and does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond that.
